We had a good meeting on Monday 27.10.2025. Sadly Jess was unable to join us due to a ‘car’ emergency, and Austin was on a train, travelling home following a holiday. We hope to see them and James at our next meeting.
Shelley’s ‘Beastly Magic’ book has been accepted by Scriptoria. She is waiting for a second reader to Ok its publication. Shelley is sending it to Trudy for comments/review.
Howard is continuing to add to his short stories about ‘The Gizmo’. He read an excerpt from his latest chapter which cleverly steered the story in a different direction.
Alex has been in contact with the newly opened ‘Weybridge Hub’, with a view to WW meeting in one of its rooms. It has suitable accommodation, but depending on attendance, we may have to pay in excess of £5 per meeting. Following a straw poll, it was decided to continue meeting in the Men’s Shed, which is conveniently located with easy parking.
Guy has given a talk on Windmills, which was well received.
He read a short piece on the Thunderbirds’, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary.
Many of us remembered the original series and reminisced about its characters and storylines.
Annette is very disciplined and is doing ‘free writing’ every morning, with the aim of giving herself some short story ideas.
Ann has received two enquiries from prospective new members. Unfortunately, they are both working and therefore unable to attend day-time meetings.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 25th November at 2pm in the Men’s Shed, Weybridge.
