Annette has been a member of the Walton Wordsmiths for two years. She is a ‘New Writer’ member of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists (SWWJ) and a member of the Association of Christian Writers (ACW). Annette has been a nurse for nearly 40 years but it has always been her ambition to write for publication. To help her achieve her ambitions Annette completed a Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Creative and Professional writing at Roehampton University where she studied Literary Theory, Short Story Writing, Journalism and Writing for the Screen. For her dissertation Annette wrote a screenplay for a feature length film.
Since completing her MA Annette has had success in writing for nursing journals and has had articles published in the ‘Nursing Times’ and the ‘Gastrointestinal Nursing’ journals.
Annette has recently retired from the NHS and is exploring the different forms of writing and genres. She has found the members of the Walton Wordsmiths to be a welcoming and friendly group that offers advice and encouragement on all aspects of writing. Annette works well when there is a deadline and enjoys the creative writing prompts set at the end of each meeting.
Annette has an interest in non-fiction writing but is currently working on short stories and flash fiction.
